MetaTrader 5 โ€”
How it works and how to open your first order

โฑ 15 minute read ยท ๐Ÿ”’ Solo VIP

MetaTrader 5 (MT5) is the trading platform you'll use every day to execute the VIP room signals. Available on smartphone, tablet and computer, it's free and can be downloaded directly from the App Store, Google Play or the official MetaQuotes website. You received your login credentials by email from the broker โ€” in this module you'll learn how to use them.

๐Ÿ“Œ Before you start

You need three pieces of information the broker sent you after registration: account number (Login), password e server name. Look for these in your email before proceeding.

Quotes screen โ€” instrument list with real-time bid/ask

MT5 is divided into 4 main sections, accessible from the bottom navigation bar. Here they are, explained one by one:

๐Ÿ“Š
Quotes
A list of all available financial instruments with sell (Bid) and buy (Ask) prices updated in real time.
Search for XAUUSD.s o XAUUSD in the magnifying glass icon at the top right to find gold. Tap it to open the chart or place an order.
๐Ÿ“ˆ
Chart
The Japanese candlestick chart showing price action over time.
Tap the timeframe at the top left (e.g. H4) to change it. We mainly use M15 (15 minutes) and H1 (1 hour) for the signals.
๐Ÿ’ผ
Trade
Shows the current state of your account and all open positions in real time.
Balance: deposited capital ยท Equity: updated balance including open P&L ยท Free Margin: capital available for new orders
๐Ÿ•
History
Complete archive of all closed trades, deposits and withdrawals made.
Essential for tracking your performance over time. You'll find the tabs Positions, Orders e Deals.

Trading and signals โ€” The basics

Trading is the activity of opening and closing positions on a financial instrument to profit from price movement. A signal is a trading instruction that tells you when to enter, where to protect yourself e where to cash in.

Here's what a XAU Elite VIP signal looks like:

๐Ÿ‘‘ XAU ELITE VIP ๐Ÿ‘‘
โšก DIRECTION๐Ÿ”ด SELL GOLD
๐Ÿ“ ENTRY4511 โ€“ 4513price range
๐Ÿ›‘ INITIAL SL4517
๐ŸŽฏ TP14502
๐Ÿš€ TP24492
๐Ÿš€ TP34480

The basics โ€” SL, TP and Breakeven

๐Ÿ›‘ STOP LOSS (SL)
An order that automatically closes the trade when price moves against you up to a certain point. It's meant to limit losses to the maximum planned. Never widen it once the position is open.
๐ŸŽฏ TAKE PROFIT (TP)
An order that automatically closes the trade when price reaches your profit target. With multiple TPs you open several trades simultaneously, one per level.
โš–๏ธ BREAKEVEN (BE)
It means moving the Stop Loss to the entry price. This is done when the trade is already in profit to eliminate risk: if the market reverses, the trade closes at breakeven โ€” zero loss, zero gain. When the signal says "move to BE," always do it.

How to place an order on MT5 โ€” Step by step

1
Go to the Trade section and tap "+"
On the Trade screen (third icon at the bottom), you'll find the "+" button at the top right. Tap it to open the order entry screen.
2
Select XAUUSD as the instrument
On the screen that opens, check that at the top it shows XAUUSD.s (or XAUUSD). If it isn't, tap it and change it by searching with the magnifying glass.
โ†’ Do you see "Gold US Dollar" as the description? You're in the right place.
3
Set the volume (lots)
The center field shows the volume. Use the quick buttons (-0.5, -0.1, +0.1, +0.5) or edit the number manually. Check the risk table below to choose the correct lot size based on your balance.
4
Enter Stop Loss and Take Profit
Tap the "+" next to Stop Loss and enter the value from the signal. Then tap the "+" next to Take Profit and enter the first TP. If there are multiple TPs, open several separate orders with the same SL but different TPs.
โ†’ Fill Policy: leave it on "Immediate or Cancel"
5
Tap Buy or Sell
The Sell by Market button opens a short position (SELL signal). The Buy by Market button opens a long position (BUY signal). Always check the signal direction before tapping.
โ†’ The order executes immediately at the current market price
โœ… Always check

After tapping Buy/Sell, go back to the Trade tab. You should see the open position with the entry price, SL and TP. If you don't see them, the order didn't go through โ€” try again.

Risk table โ€” How many lots to open

Before every trade, check this table. Find your current balance and use the Total Volume indicated. If the signal has 3 TPs, split the lots as shown in the last column.

Balance (โ‚ฌ/$) Total Volume How to split (3 orders)
$2500.03TP1: 0.01 | TP2: 0.01 | TP3: 0.01
$5000.07TP1: 0.03 | TP2: 0.02 | TP3: 0.02
$7500.11TP1: 0.05 | TP2: 0.03 | TP3: 0.03
$1.0000.15TP1: 0.07 | TP2: 0.04 | TP3: 0.04
$2.0000.30TP1: 0.14 | TP2: 0.08 | TP3: 0.08
$5.0000.75TP1: 0.35 | TP2: 0.20 | TP3: 0.20
$10.0001.50TP1: 0.70 | TP2: 0.40 | TP3: 0.40
โš ๏ธ Important โ€” Disclaimer

This table is purely illustrative and educational. The values shown represent an example calculation and do not constitute financial advice. Always set your parameters based on your actual available capital and your risk tolerance.

Managing multiple Take Profits

When a signal includes multiple Take Profits (TP1, TP2, TP3), you need to open several separate trades โ€” one for each TP. They must all have the same Stop Loss, but a different Take Profit:

๐Ÿ“Œ
Open 3 orders with the same volume and the same SL, but different TP1, TP2 and TP3 โ€” each on its own position.
๐Ÿ“Œ
Respect always the same lot size for every trade and enter on every signal sent. Skipping signals compromises the strategy.
๐Ÿ“Œ
When you're told to move to Breakeven, immediately move the SL to the entry price on all positions still open.
๐Ÿ’ก Golden rule

Never widen the Stop Loss to "give the trade more room." The SL is your loss limit โ€” respecting it is the foundation of risk management. We'll go deeper into all of this in the next module.
