Before you can trade XAU/USD you need a trading account with a regulated broker. In this module we'll guide you step by step through the entire process: from choosing the broker to your first available trade.

What to look for in a broker
Not all brokers are the same. Before depositing a single euro, always check these points:

Fill out the registration form
You'll be asked for: first and last name, email, phone number, country of residence. Enter real data — it will be needed for identity verification. Choose a secure password and keep it safe.

KYC Verification (Know Your Customer)
By law, regulated brokers must verify their clients' identity. You'll be asked to upload: an ID document (ID card or passport) and proof of residence (a utility bill or bank statement showing your address).

Most brokers offer different account types. To get started, a Standard account is more than enough. Avoid accounts with fixed commissions if you're starting with a small capital.

Receive your MetaTrader credentials
After your account is activated you'll receive your MetaTrader login credentials by email: account number (login), password and server address. Keep this information safe — you'll use it in the next module.

Frequently asked questions
How much capital do I need to start?
There's no fixed minimum, but we recommend starting with at least 200–500€. With less than €200 it's hard to apply proper risk management (you'll see this in Module 5). Remember: only trade with capital you can afford to lose.
Can I use a demo account first?
Yes, almost all brokers offer a demo account with virtual money. It's useful for learning the platform, but it doesn't replace real experience — the emotions are completely different. Use it for the technical side, then switch to real when you're ready.
How long does it take to open the account?
Registration takes 10-15 minutes. KYC verification can take anywhere from a few hours to 2 business days. Card deposits are instant, bank transfers take 1-3 business days.
Does the affiliate link cost me anything extra?
No, absolutely not. The account conditions (spread, leverage, minimum deposit) are identical. XAU Elite receives a commission from the broker based on your trading activity — this is what allows us to offer you the signal service for free.
